How do I get to Mullen?Mullen Is located at the junction of NE Highway 2 and Nebraska Highway 97. We are 70 miles of North Platte on Highway 97, 65 miles south of Valentine on NE Highway 97, 100 miles west of Broken Bow on NE Highway 2, and 100 miles east of Alliance on NE Highway 2. The Burlington Northern Railroad played a vital part of the development of the town. The town was named for one of the prominent employees of the railroad by the last name of Mullen. Nebraska liked to name counties after famous people, especially those involved in the Civil War. Our county was named for the Union General Joseph P. Hooker.
